1. Exchange Programme with Cedar Girls' Secondary School in Singapore

The exchange programme is divided into the following two parts:-
Exchange Programme Part 1: Receiving and Welcoming Guests from Singapore
Dates: 10 - 15 March 2008
Focus: English Enrichment Programme at GHS
Accommodation: homestay in a local family

Exchange Programme Part 2: Our Trip to Singapore
Dates: 17 - 22 March 2008
Focus: Mathematics Enrichment Programme at CGSS
Accommodation: homestay and hotel
Participants: Six Form 2 students (with 2 accompanying adults)

Learning Foci:-
(1) cultural exposure;
(2) attending lessons in a local school;
(3) making friends with local students;
(4) visiting sites of importance and interest; and
(5) learning to be more independent.

 

2. Outward Bound Programme

Dates: 16 - 20 March 2008
Participants: Forms 1-4 and 6 students (with 2 accompanying adults)
Quota: 46

Learning Foci:-
(1) leadership training and team building;
(2) project management;
(3) problem-solving skills; and
(4) care for self and environment.

3. Exchange with Students of the Affiliated Middle School To Shanghai Teachers' University

The exchange programme is divided into the following two parts:-
Exchange Programme Part 1: Our Trip to Shanghai
Dates: 16 - 22 March 2008
Accommodation: homestay in a local family
Participants: Fifteen Form 4 and 6 students (with 2 accompanying adults)

Exchange Programme Part 2: Receiving and Welcoming Guests from Shanghai
Dates: 27 April - 3 May 2008
Accommodation: homestay in a local family

Learning Foci:-
(1) cultural exposure;
(2) practising PTH;
(3) attending lessons in a local school;
(4) making friends with local students;
(5) visiting sites of importance and interest; and
(6) learning to be more independent.

4. Summer English Programme in UK

Dates: 24 July - 12 August 2008
Accommodation: homestay in a local family
Host School: Sutton High School
Activities: English class, workshops (e.g. dance, story-telling, writing etc.), Host family days and excursions
Participants: Thirty Forms 1 and 2 students (with 3 accompanying adults)

Learning Foci:-
(1) cultural exposure;
(2) attending lessons in a local school;
(3) staying with a British family;
(4) visiting sites of importance and interest; and
(5) learning to be more independent
