F.5 Farewell and Chinese New Year Celebration
The whole school was filled with joy and excitement but there was a tinge of sadness too. It was our Chinese Costume Day as well as the last school day for our Form 5 schoolmates. We exchanged our usual uniforms for traditional Chinese costumes but our Form 5 schoolmates wore their unique class T-shirts.
In the farewell ceremony, the Form 5 students thanked their teachers for helping them with their studies. They then sang farewell songs together, with tears falling. Having got along together for such a long period of time, all of them had built up strong friendships. Everyone was touched by their strong camaraderie and class spirit. It did not need saying that their precious memories of Good Hope School would always stay in their hearts.
After the Form 5 farewell, the Central Board presented some Chinese New Year games. Several lucky blindfolded schoolmates were given some Chinese traditional snacks which they then had to draw on a piece of paper. The audience needed to guess what the snacks were. After this we watched a funny video which starred our very own teachers! The celebration finally ended with an energetic lion dance performance. All of us fully participated in the celebration and it was great fun!
In the happy season of Chinese New Year, we make no sad farewells. Instead we wish all our Form 5 schoolmates all the best for the HKCEE. I am sure that we will meet again soon, when they come back in Form 6!
