New Year Concert
Artemis Tang F.4F
The New Year Concert, actually held on the first day of the year, has always been a tradition of Good Hope School, and is the culmination of the Christmas Music Camp. The theme of the concert this year was “Evolution”. This year we were honoured to have Professor Jing Ling-Tam and Mr. Chen Tao as our musical mentors, and Mr. Stephen Xavier as our choreographer. We were also delighted to welcome Miss Adrianna Tam, Professor Ling-Tam’s daughter, and Miss Julie Pun-Man Kwok as our guest pianists.
The concert started with a piece played by the Symphonic Band and two songs sung by the choir. Then our little sisters from the Kindergarten, conducted by Miss Melody Tang, sang two songs. After their gorgeous performance came more superb work from the junior and senior choir members. The climax of the concert was the performing of three traditional songs, which included both singing and dancing, and everything was concluded by the lively spiritual “Peter Go Ring-a Dem Bells”, which received a most enthusiastic round of applause.
Our thanks must go out to our teachers and mentors for both the camp and the concert. With their help, we were able to match the theme of the concert, Evolution, as with effort we all improved enormously in our singing and dancing skills! Our own perseverance and hard work certainly paid off, for hearing the tremendous applause at the end of our concert made us all feel very proud. We are already, now, looking forward to the New Year Concert 2013!
