Take your marks, ... swim
Avril Tsang 4A
Our annual swimming gala was held on January the 4th, and although the weather was cold, our enthusiasm for success kept our hearts warm. With over 100 competitors, everyone was geared up to try their very best to win a prize.
The competitors displayed great sportsmanship during the events and several records were broken. As a competitor myself, I could see my classmates cheering for all their housemates, giving everyone the confidence to do their best, and this naturally helped everyone to achieve just that little bit more. Some of the competitors were still disappointed with their results, unfortunately, but the unconditional support and encouragement from their colleagues quickly made them feel better. I am sure this led them to understand the true spirit of being a Good Hoper and the real meaning of friendship.
Seeing the photographers spending so much time taking photos of us was blissful too! It is so nice being noticed and made to feel important. With all the efforts of the officials, photographers, spectators and competitors, I believe that the swimming gala was very inspiring for us all as it showed that none of us are alone and that others will always love us for what we do.
