We also encourage students and parents to switch off the air-conditioners at home for at least one night on Friday, 25 September, from 7p.m. to 7a.m. the next day.
Let’s try our best to conserve the natural resources and protect the environment.

23 September 2015 - Swimming Gala of Secondary Section

In the morning of September 23rd, all of our p6 girls joined the swimming gala of the Secondary Section in Kowloon Park swimming pool.
Our girls participated in four individual events: 50m free style, 50m breast stroke, 50m back stroke, and 50m butterfly. Twelve representatives from the five Houses also participated in the Fun Relay. They had to transport a water polo ball throughout the whole journey. They tried very hard to keep up their speed and control the ball at the same time.
All the girls immersed themselves in the exciting atmosphere and cheered together with their Secondary big sisters. This experience made them look forward to the coming secondary school life. The secondary sisters were also excited to reunite with their primary teachers too.
Both primary and secondary girls are looking forward to the next joint Sections activity.

The first Parents Meeting for P2 to P5 parents was held on 18 September 2015. Sister Pauline, the Principal, presented the school theme of this academic year – “Care for Myself, Care for Others” and explained what it entails. Miss Helen Cheung, Discipline Mistress, also presented some students issues and the conduct marks. After the general assembly, the parents proceeded to the classrooms to meet the class teachers of their daughters. We believe that the good collaboration between parents and school will help our students to foster good interpersonal relationships and the ability of self-care.

16 September 2015 – NPV’s talk on ‘Animals in the city’

Dr. Mark Mak, Chairman of the Non-profit making Veterinary Service Society (NPV), was invited to share with the School on animal welfare. He spoke about ‘Animals in the city’ and let us know that many animals on the streets were leading a difficult life. Dr. Mak did not only share with the girls his experience in taking care of homeless animals, but he also told them about the misery of those animals living in pet breeding mills. To show the terrible life at the breeding mills, two girls volunteered to sit in a box that resembled a cage and shared with us their feelings. The girls were excited when they met the animal teachers, which were either rescued from the street or from cruel owners. Yet, with love, these once abused animals were transformed. After the talk, all the students promised they would never hurt animals and they would not buy pets any more.

8 September 2015 – School Opening Mass

It is the tradition of the School to celebrate the Mass at the beginning of the new school year on 8 September, The Feast of the Nativity of Mary. This year, Father Giovanni Giampietro, PIME was the celebrant. All students and staff of the school were united in one spirit to pray for a joyful start of the new school year.
Father Giovanni asked all to welcome into our lives Mother Mary, the spiritual mother of all men and the holiest of God’s creatures. He also explained to us the meaning of the word “Emmanuel”, i.e. “God is with us”. He asked us to be confident at all times since God is by our side. The school opening mass ended in the lively singing of the song “Mary”.
